This new edition of the tabletop miniatures game, based on the iconic sci-fi action RPG franchise, includes welcome quality-of-life improvements and streamlined design.The Fallout: Wasteland Warfare Second Edition AnnouncementIn its official press release, Modiphius Entertainment states that Fallout: Wasteland Warfare Second Edition, which was officially announced last year will build on the original game's design philosophy. That game, released eight years ago, was a sandbox experience that randomly generated a post-apocalyptic wasteland for you to explore either alone or cooperatively with a friend.This new edition is built on those eight years of hindsight.

Players will start their game in a home settlement before slowly building out a randomly generated campaign map of locations and enemies to navigate and confront. At launch, players can play as four core factions: Survivors, Super Mutants, the Brotherhood of Steel, and Wasteland Raiders.In addition, Modiphius has confirmed that two new factions will be introduced in future books: the New California Republic and Caesar's Legion. This particular announcement should delight dedicated Fallout fans. Those factions play a vital role in fan-favorite entry Fallout: New Vegas, and were featured in Season 2 of the Fallout TV series on Prime Video.If you have already invested in a set of miniatures, Fallout: Wasteland Warfare Second Edition is still compatible.

This new edition still uses 32mm scale miniatures with core sets in multipart plastic kits. The first set, Into The Wasteland, is a solo starter set that contains everything you need to get started, including cardboard terrain, profiles for all factions, the complete core rules, core rules for solo play and co-op play, and plastic hero miniatures. It is available at an MSRP of $80, not including shipping.The second starter set, Warbands, contains starter rules, faction profiles, and 22 preassembled PVC Warbands of Survivors and Super Mutants. Those miniatures include the Lone Survivor in T-45 Power Armor, a Mr. Handy robot, a Super Mutant known as "The Ravager," and a Super Mutant hound in power armor called "The Mutt." This starter set is being sold at an MSRP of $160, not including shipping.
